Our 2008-2009 chimney service fee schedule is value-driven and competitive. Fees are based on the amount of time spent and difficulty of the job.
Chimney cleaning includes: mechanical brushing of surfaces and removal of dislodged soot and creosote; visual inspection from above and below of flue tiles, mortar joints and bricks, (or Class A chimney and pipes); inspection and testing of all related components (i.e., cap, damper, doors, and screens); inspection of chimney crown, slab cap, chase cover, and flashing when present. Open masonry or prefabricated fireplace chimney: $125-180* Rumford-style (oversized) fireplace chimney: $175-250* Freestanding woodstove or cook stove flue: $125-180* Oil or gas furnace flue: $150-200* Oil stove flue: $175-250* Fireplace insert or woodstove insert with stainless steel liner: $125-180* Fireplace insert or woodstove insert, unlined chimney: $200-280* *Where a range of prices is listed, actual cost is determined by how tall and how dirty we find your chimney to be. When power cleaning with rotary tool is needed to remove hard glazed creosote, add $25+. Inspection: Visual Inspection-only: $125. Inspection fee is fully refundable when further work valued at $500 or more (for example: relining, woodstove installation) is recommended and agreed. Video Inspection: $100 (requires cleaning first) Relining: Actual cost varies based on chimney height, preparation required, and amount of liner needed. When shopping for a company to reline your chimney, be sure to compare apples-to-apples. Remember: if a chimney fire or weather-related incident caused damage to your chimney, the cost of relining will probably be covered by your Homeowners' Insurance.
