Busy season

Just before and during wood-burning season (mid-August through March here in WNC) is the only time most homeowners think about having their chimneys cleaned. During the beginning and middle of this period, it's not unusual to experience a wait of 8-10 weeks for a chimney appointment. We respectfully suggest you consider arranging your regular chimney maintenance in our "off-season" (spring and summer) when we'll be better able to accommodate your scheduling preferences. Cleaning and inspecting the chimney BEFORE burning season will ensure that your fireplace or woodstove is ready to provide you with trouble-free warmth when you want and need it.

Forward Scheduling

Simplify your home maintenance routine and ensure your chimney's safety by having us automatically schedule our return visit every year (or two years, or semi-annually, or whatever's appropriate for your burning habits). We'll send you a reminder postcard with a suggested appointment date, and then follow up with a phone call to confirm an actual date and time to clean and inspect your chimney.

Duration of service call

On the average, a fireplace chimney or woodstove flue cleaning takes about one hour; an insert takes about two hours. Inspection-only: one hour or less. This may vary with: amount and condition of soot/creosote in flue and on chimney cap, total height of chimney, height of chimney above roofline, ladder placement requirements for chimney top inspection, roofing material and configuration, how much you and your sweep are enjoying talking to each other!
