Our Services: Chimney Caps
Chimney Caps

Why Install Chimney Caps?

Protect walls/ceilings/chimney mortar and the home's other structural members from water and embers; block critters and the diseases or parasites they carry; keep leaves and debris from choking the flue and starting a chimney fire in a dirty flue. Our chimney caps are lifetime-guaranteed stainless steel that withstand corrosion by acidic creosote (we won't install galvanized metal because it rusts). Copper and wind-directional chimney caps available by special order.

Water
Of all the elements, water is the most common cause of damage to a chimney. It soaks into porous bricks, eats away at the mortar, hastens the destruction of the chimney liner, and destroys the mortar crown on the top of the chimney. A chimney cap does a great job of protecting a chimney from water damage. And for maximum chimney protection, we recommend a multi-flue cap. That's because a multi-flue cap covers the entire chimney, not just one flue.

Sparks and Embers
Every year throughout Western North Carolina hundreds of fires are started by burning embers that rise up the flue, exit through an uncapped chimney, and land on the roof or in the yard. The results can be devastating and even life-threatening.

Avoid becoming a statistic! Contain these embers with a professionally-installed chimney cap. Designed with spark arrestor screens that keep burning embers in, our chimney caps give you protection and peace of mind.

Critters
Sure, raccoons and squirrels are cute, and birds sound nice - as long as they're outside. But when critters decide to come inside and make their home in your chimney, they're anything but cute!

Imagine your surprise when they unexpectedly just drop in to visit through an open chimney. Besides being a physical threat to you, they can cause extensive damage to your home and furnishings.

Even if they don't get into your living area, they may decide to take up residence in your chimney. In addition to being noisy, wild animals carry diseases that can be transmitted through their droppings.

Their nests can block your flue, which can contribute to dangerous back-puffing, carbon monoxide poisoning, and chimney fires. No one wants his or her family exposed to that.

Keep animals and birds outside where they belong: have a chimney cap professionally installed today! Please see Chimneys & Wildlife for further information.
